COGNAC Y CIGARRO
The colour of amber and slow afternoons. These are works that know how to keep you company — unhurried, warm, with the particular ease of those pleasures that ask nothing of you.
Jagdhund (Hunting dog), Adalbert Stifter (1866).
A hunting dog stands alert against a pale, craquelured ground. Stifter was better known as a writer, but his eye for the natural world was just as precise on canvas. Small works such as this one are dispersed across Austrian and Bavarian collections, both public and private.
Gassenwinkel (Corner of an Alley), Oskar Schlemmer (1911).
A street corner in winter. Schlemmer strips the urban scene to its bones with subtle geometry: bare trees, muted facades and a lamppost standing. Part of the permanent collection of the Belvedere, Vienna.
Januskopf (Janus Head), Otto Meyer-Amden (1885–1933).
A face turned two ways at once. Meyer-Amden renders the Janus figure with quiet intensity. Almost spectral, Janus is caught between past and future in a narrow palette stripped to its essentials. The work belongs to the artist's relatively small surviving body of around 500 paintings and drawings, dispersed today across Swiss public collections (including the Kunstmuseum Basel), and private holdings.
Format & Paper: Each print is produced as a museum-quality Giclée print on Hahnemühle German Etching, a warm, textured cotton paper that honours the depth and tonal richness of each work.
