Great Meditation Autumn (1936), Alexej von Jawlensky
In the final years of his life, plagued by arthritis and painting with both hands, Jawlensky painted his Meditations series. Using parallel strokes, the series reduce the human form to a strict, cross-like framework representing the eyes, nose, and mouth. The palette is rich in earthy ochres and deep violets, bringing melancholic tones to this introspective work.
Currently held in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), not on public display.
Format & Paper: Available as a museum-quality Giclée print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag, a heavyweight, acid-free cotton paper that honours the intimacy and tonal depth of Jawlensky's late meditative work.
Size: 70 × 100 cm
