PATINA
Three centuries apart, Patina is a dialogue in the palette of worn gold, the colour of light that has stayed long enough to settle.
Meekness, Eustache Le Sueur (1650).
A figure in saffron and rose, a lamb at her side, set against a patterned gold ground. One of the eight Beatitudes painted for the private chapel of Guillaume Brissonnet's Paris townhouse — and one of only two that survive. Part of the permanent collection of the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, USA.
Composition, Liubov Popova (1917).
Three planes — black, ochre, oxblood — tilted on a pale field. Painted at the height of Popova's Painterly Architectonics, where colour itself became architecture, and the relationship between shapes carried the weight once given to figures. Private collection.
Format & Paper: Each print is produced as a museum-quality Giclée print on Hahnemühle German Etching, a warm, textured cotton paper that honours the depth and tonal richness of each work.
Size: Eustache Le Sueur — Meekness · 30 × 45 cm · Liubov Popova — Composition · 60 × 80 cm
